As of today the number of people waiting for organ donation is 98,154. This is almost thousand more people from September 2007 when the count was around 97,000. At this alarming rate, within a six months the number of people waiting for organ donation will cross 100,000. That will be a worrisome trend. Starting today, I am planning to write about a disease that needs organ/tissue/marrow transplant. As I see, more and more people looking for information about a particular disease. Since Sanjivan.com strives to be a complete source of information about organ donation, it is very natural that Sanjivan.com needs to have information about the diseases that creates the necessity of organ donation in first place. Living Donors make up almost 50% of all the donations in the U.S. Even though the term - “living donors” sounds simple, I would like to go little more in detail about what it means and how it means to you.
You and I can donate some of our organs and still remain healthy and live a long life. Not only we live healthy and long, we also help another person live long by donating our organ/tissue.
